However, on the way back we were able to get seats on the non-stop flight from Milan to Miami. Unfortunately, the best arrangement I could find was an Air Berlin flight from Miami to Dussledorff, Germany with a one-hour connecting flight to Milan. We live in south Florida and American had recently introduced non-stop service from Miami to Milan (a two-and-a-half hour train ride from Venice), so that was our best option.
